Archt. Piyal Silva has worked in the Architecture, Planning and Building Industry for over 30 years. At the beginning of his career he worked at the Urban Development Authority (UDA) where he handled large integrated Urban development projects in greater Colombo. Among other work he also acted as the Co-ordinating architect for the Superior Courts Complex Project in 1986-1989 (Cost 2500 Million Rs) within a highly congested urban center in Colombo. After 14 years of service he left UDA as Director Design and Project Management. 

 

He formed Avant Garde Urban Design Partnership in 1998 where he was the principal architect for several projects including Modern Research and Development Complex for Industrial Technology Institute at Malabe (Cost 1500 Million Rs) and urban design projects in Dehiwala- Mount Lavinia and Kotte Municipalities. He founded Design Advocacy Pvt. Ltd. in 2011.

Eng. G T R De Silva had a distinguished career at the State Engineering Corporation (SEC) of Sri Lanka,

where he started his career as a site engineer at the Polgolla Dam site in 1973. He joined the Designs

Office of SEC in 1976 and  he was appointed as the Chief Structural Engineer in 1996. In 2005 he was appointed as the DGM, Consultancy Services and in 2006 he was promoted as the General Manager of SEC.

 

He joined the Engineering Consultants (pvt) Ltd in 2009 as its Chief Operating Officer. Subesequently, he joined the Design Advocacy (Pvt) Ltd in 2011.

 

Eng. Rohana De Silva was responsible for many innovative Structural Designs including the first Cable Stayed Foot Bridge in Sri Lanka at the Beira Lake.

 

He was a council member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka and has served many engineering related committees and acts as a consultant engineer to Jaya Sri Maha Bodi Trust fund,Anuradhapura. He was also a former visiting lecturer at the faculty of Architecture- University of Moratuwa & the Open

University, Nawala.

Archt. Saroja Lokuketagoda has worked in architecture for 25 years. She spent 22 years at the Ministry of Education during which she acted as project architect for many school buildings and two brand new schools. She acted as team leader for design and construction of National College of Education (Cost 250 million Rs) in 2000 at Bingiriya. She also prepared the guidelines and standards of design for donours who contributed towards The Tsunami- Reconstruction of School Programme. She also took part in training programmes in UK (Project Management) and in China (Accessibility Design). She has also participated in several study tours in South East Asian countries.
